Haaland speaking about Messi: "Perhaps he should retire."

Norwegian striker for Manchester City, Erling Haaland, affirmed in a press conference ahead of their Champions League round of 16 second-leg match against Copenhagen that the Argentine star Lionel Messi is the best football player in the world.

 Haaland's response to journalists' questions was humorous, saying about Messi: "I've won important titles with Manchester City and I want more. Lionel Messi is the best football player. Perhaps he should retire before considering another player as the best."

 

Haaland emphasized the difficulty of winning the Ballon d'Or and competing for it while the "phenomenon" is still playing football.
